Facebook is back in the past on the roof of a college-eccentric social network. Facebook has unveiled its new social networking platform Facebook Campus.

Facebook's new platform is a special space for college students. Here students can connect with their classmates. You can chat with friends in campus groups, clubs and drums to form groups, watch new college programs and get updates from the school administration.

But the school's email address (@ .edu) is required to join the new platform. It goes live within a special dedicated section within the Facebook app. This section can be accessed from the 'More' menu at the bottom of the screen, along with tabs, Watch, Dating, Gaming, News, Marketplace and other sections.

"We want to create a product that makes it easier for classmates to meet each other, expand new relationships and communicate," said Charmini Hung, Facebook campus product manager.

Hung said it was a relevant and appropriate way to connect with classmates and college when students were not able to go to college during covid 19.

"Facebook is trying to address the problems of teenagers and the Facebook campus is the solution," she said.

While young people are being attracted to social apps like YouTube, Snap chat and Instagram, reports are showing that Facebook is losing its grip on them.

According to a 2018 study by the Pew Research C enter, 51 percent of American users in the 13- to 17-year-old age group used Facebook. But in 2015, 1 percent of young people in the same age group said they would use Facebook.

Meanwhile, according to a 2019 survey by Edison Research, Facebook lost 15 million users in 2017. The sharp decline in the number of users was in the age group of 12 to 34 years.

By providing exclusive space for private networking within Facebook, Facebook now plans to regain its grip on users in that age group.

As soon as this feature is made public, it will be activated in 30 colleges and universities in the United States. The company plans to expand over time.

Looking back at the past of the Facebook company, Mark Zuckerberg started this app as a college app in his student life as his college project.
