Now go to Settings and Privacy at the bottom. Now there will be an option of profile locking inside. Through which you can lock your Facebook profile.

However, currently, Facebook has limited this feature to India and Bangladesh. There is no news from Facebook as to when this feature will be extended to other countries including Nepal.

But do not despair. Even if this feature is uncertain, you can securely keep your privacy on Facebook at the same level as your profile is locked.

Default Sharing Privacy

The fastest way to lock all your posts is to change the default sharing option from the public to friends. When you make this kind of change, only the friends on your list will see what you post on Facebook in the future.

  • To do this, click on the three stripes in the upper right corner of the Facebook app.
  • Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy in Settings.
  • Now go to the place with privacy inside it.
  • In the privacy setting, click on 'Who can see your future post' under your activity and take it from the public to friends. After doing so, all the content that you post and share on Facebook will be visible only to your friends as the default setting.

How to merge old posts?

This feature allows you to manage all your previous posts at once.

  • For that, go back to the place where your activity was.
  • Click on the 'Limit Who Can See Past Post' option.
  • You will see 'Limit Past Post' written in red letters at the bottom. If you click on it, Facebook will ask again.
  • If you click on it again, your previous friends of friends and all the published posts will be limited to being seen by friends at once. If you want to change the privacy of a post, you have to change it one by one.

Make your friends list private

Facebook has made your friends list public by default. This means that if you do not adjust the settings, anyone on Facebook (everyone on your friend's list or not) will be able to see the entire list of friends on your Facebook. You can change it at any time according to your preferences.

  • To do this, tap on the three stripes in the top right corner of the mobile app.
  • Go to Settings within Settings & Privacy.
  • Scroll to it and tap on Privacy Settings in Privacy.
  • Now scroll down a bit and click on the 'Who can see your friends' list in 'How People Can Find and Contact You' and choose 'Friends' (Only You Can See) or 'Only Me'. This will allow you to decide which friends you want to see and which ones you don't.

Adjust the privacy of your profile

Facebook profile is made public by default. This means that your profile can be viewed on other search engines, including Google. You can change your profile settings.

  • To do this, first, click on the three apps in the top right corner of the Facebook app.
  • Settings and Privacy Go to the Privacy section within Settings.
  • Click on the privacy setting at the beginning.
  • Now go to 'Manage Your Profile'. In it, you will see your profile details.
  • You can adjust it by clicking on the pencil icon on the back of each detail and confirming who can see that information.

What to do to make your profile invisible in Google search?

You can make your profile invisible to search engines, including Google. To do this, go to the privacy settings as above.

  • Click on 'Do you want search engines outside of Facebook to link to your profile' inside 'How People Can Find and Contact You' at the bottom.
  • Now, if the button inside is on, turn it off.

Be careful when posting on Facebook
