Buying a Second-Hand Phone? Take care of these things

The business of second-hand smartphones has grown well in recent times. For this, not only the Facebook group but also e-commerce companies are working commercially to buy and sell second-hand mobiles.

Second-hand smartphones are being traded even offline, not through such online media. Counterpoint's research found that 137 million used smartphones were sold last year in the United States and Europe alone.

In Nepal, however, little research has been done on the number of such smartphones sold annually. Here are some important things to keep in mind if you are thinking of buying a second-hand phone. So that you do not have to suffer any loss, damage, or embarrassment.

1. The price of the phone

Find out when the second-hand phone you're buying was first made public and what its current value is. Sometimes the price of a second-hand phone may be around the new model or the difference is very small.

For example, if the price of the second-hand smartphone you are buying is 10 thousand, then the new model can be only 12 thousand rupees.

2. Phone accessories

Also check if the accessories that come with the phone including charger adapter, USB cable, earphones are working well. It is also important to check whether data is being transferred from the USB cable.

The most important thing is to check whether these accessories are original or not. Generally, mobile companies are giving 6 months warranty on such accessories.

3. Format the phone

Format and factory reset two or three times before inserting SIM in the phone. Removes any pre-installed apps or bugs or viruses on the phone.

You can find the option of formatting or factory reset by going to the settings for formatting the phone. Tap on it. Now put the SIM and memory card on the phone and turn it on.

Make sure the memory card is read after the phone is turned on. And also keep in mind how much mobile network is coming.

4. Check the display and camera

When the phone is turned on, first touch all parts of the phone's screen. You can check it by playing any game on the phone whenever possible.

This shows how effective the phone's display is. Also, check the rear and front camera of the phone.

Also, consider whether the quality of the photo you click on is correct. Check by phone now. Consider whether the phone is properly networked and sound.

5. Connectivity and battery backup

Also, keep in mind how long the phone is fully charged and how long its battery lasts. Also, don't forget to check the connectivity features of the phone. If the phone supports OTG cable, try inserting a pen drive in it.

6. Bill and IMEI

Last but not least, don't forget to check the invoice bill of the second-hand smartphone you are buying. The person selling the phone may say that the bill is missing.

If your mobile phone is stolen or lost, you may be unnecessarily harassed by the police. So don't forget to take the old bill when buying second-hand mobile.

Check the IMEI number of the phone and compare it with the bill. You can find out the IMEI number of the phone by dialing * # 06 # on your mobile. Make sure the IMEI number on the bill is the same as the IMEI number on the mobile.
